Mining Modern Museum Education

We created a series of dynamic short segments from static presentations, weaving in multiple visual elements and different camera angles to re-energize the speakers presentations and help the viewer recapture the energy of being there. MoMA’s symposium on art learning initiatives by museums educators brought together luminaries from institutions all over the country and covered past examples as well as ideas for the future. Over two days, Plowshares captured over hours of footage covering talks, PowerPoint-based presentations, public Q & A sessions, and private workshops. In post-production we incorporated each speaker’s own content into a modular segment, this allowed the full contents of event to provide guidance long after the lights went up. A highlights reel was also created to bring the best of this engaging material to the public.

Here is the introductory segment, featuring MoMA’s Director for Education, using 2 cameras and incorporating her presentation slides.
